UNODC mission to Bhutan on Project H13 for Drugs and HIV
In the second mission, the UNODC Representative Mr Gary Lewis visited Bhutan from May 22nd till 26th. He was accompanied by Ms Harsheth, Coordinator for Project H13, related to drugs and HIV AIDS. During their visit they met the honourable NCB members and the focal person from the law enforcement agencies to discuss and exchange view on the drug and crime situation in the SAARC region and how Bhutan is being affected. The out come of the visit are:
The National Workplan for Project H13 was jointly developed by BNCA, YDF and UNODC. And their assistance will cover the following area:
Support for Gidakom Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre
Provision of expert for drug treatment and rehabilitation programme
Training of peer counselors
Short–term training for hospital staff in drug treatment
Support for two Drop–in–Centres (DIC), one each in Thimphu and Phuntsholing
